About YinTang Spicy Hot Pot
Located at 5408 Walnut Ave B, Irvine, CA 92618, YinTang Spicy Hot Pot operates as a hot pot serving Irvine in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under chinese restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Irvine; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ1 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (949) 818-7888. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is ytirvine.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 123 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

This is the second time Iβve found a bug in food from Yin Tang Malatang in Irvine, which is honestly unacceptable. The first time it happened when I was dining in at the restaurant. I tried to overlook it, thinking it might be a one-time issue. But today, I ordered takeout, brought it home, and again found what appears to be a small insect in my food. This is clearly not just bad luck anymoreβit raises serious concerns about their food safety and hygiene standards.

β’ Service is attentive and friendly, making the dining experience smooth and pleasant. β’ Food quality is decent but nothing standoutβflavors feel a bit average compared to other hot pot spots. β’ Overall value leans more on the good service than the taste, so itβs fine but not memorable.

We put our name down first and when they call you in you start by grabbing a bowl and filling it with all the ingredients you want in your hot pot - various meats and vegetables. You pay by weight so the cost is just under $15/lb. I thought the price was on the high side. Once you get up to the counter to pay you pick the broth- 3 choices are original beef bone, Tom Yang, or tomato and you can pick spice level for each. I picked the beef bone at level 2. Once you pay they take it back to make your soup and they bring it out to you. They give you a small spiral bracelet with a number for your soup. There is a sauce bar so you can make your own dipping sauce. While you wait they bring out crispy wonton chips as a free service. Soup was not too spicy and overall very tasty. However I got move ingredients than I originally thought so I had to take leftovers home. At the end they bring a sweet jelly dessert at the end.
